At LawyerlinQ, we have always thought it was the most normal thing in the world to handle your personal information correctly. In this privacy statement we have listed briefly how we do that. Here you can read which data we collect and for what purpose. In addition, we also point out the rights that you have in this context.

Our company is called LawyerlinQ B.V. and we are responsible for the processing of personal data as stated in this privacy statement. The personal data that we gather is always handled carefully and in accordance with this privacy statement. LawyerlinQ B.V. is “controller” under the Dutch General Data Protection Regulation: Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG)

LawyerlinQ

LawyerlinQ creates and manages exclusive online legal communities for law firms and corporate legal departments. We help these organizations with smart organization and purchasing of expertise and capacity. These tailor-made communities are available on the LawyerlinQ platform and can only be accessed by LawyerlinQ clients and (independent) lawyers who have concluded an agreement under which they participate in that specific community

LawyerlinQ processes personal data:

  • When you visit our website
  • If you enter your details on one of the web forms
  • If you are a LawyerlinQ customer or contact person
  • When you log in to our platform
  • If you participate in one of the legal communities that we manage
  • If you have indicated that you want to participate in one of our communities
  • If you want to be eligible to provide services to our customers

Below you will find an overview of the personal data that we process. We do not collect special and / or sensitive personal data.

  • First and last name
  • Address data
  • telephone number
  • E-mail address
  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Availability data to provide services to our customers
  • Location information
  • Internet browser and device type
  • Information for the administrative processing of activities
  • Other data that you actively provide in correspondence and by telephone, for example by creating a profile on our platform.

Why we process your personal data

LawyerlinQ processes your personal data because you use our services, you are a (potential) business contact or because you provide this data to us yourself.

LawyerlinQ collects and processes your personal data if you give us permission to do so, to implement an agreement, to comply with a legal obligation or if we have a legitimate interest in doing so. We do this for the following purposes:

  • To implement our services
  • Sending our newsletter and / or other business related information
  • Being able to call or e-mail you for our services
  • Inform you about (changes to) our services
  • Offer you the opportunity to create a profile

We also process personal data if we are legally obliged to do so, such as data that we need for our tax return

LawyerlinQ does not use automated decisions about matters that can have (significant) consequences for individuals. This concerns decision made by computer programs or systems without the involvement of a LawyerlinQ employee.

Save & share your personal data

LawyerlinQ does not store your personal data longer than necessary to realize the purposes for which your data are collected. If you let us know that you would appreciate that we delete your information, we will do so immediately.

LawyerlinQ does not sell your information to third parties and will only provide it to a third party if this is necessary for the implementation of our agreements with you or to comply with a legal obligation. With the suppliers of our technology solutions that process your data on our behalf, we have a processor agreement in place to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. Third parties such as clients, suppliers and other business contacts have their own responsibility to comply with the applicable privacy legislation. The information you provide in your profile on our platform is visible to the other users of the communities in which you participate. Just like you, they are contractually bound not to share it with third parties.

Your personal data outside the Netherlands

We use cloud technology and that means that your data can be transferred to other countries within the European Union. Furthermore, some of our customers work outside the EU, and that means that if you want to be eligible to provide services to them, your data can also be transferred to other countries.

Cookies

LawyerlinQ uses only technical, functional and anonymous analytical cookies. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit our website. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical operation of the website and your ease of use. They ensure that the website works properly and, for example, remember your preferred settings. We can also use this to optimize our website. You can opt-out of cookies by setting your internet browser so that it no longer stores cookies. In addition, you can also delete all the information that was previously saved via the settings of your browser.

Rights & protection

You have the right to view your personal data (Article 15 of the AVG), to correct it (Article 16 of the AVG) or to delete it (Article 17 of the AVG). In addition, you have the right to withdraw your consent for data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by LawyerlinQ (art. 21 AVG).

You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data, or request for withdrawal of your consent, or objection to the processing of your personal data to admin@lawyerlinq.com. If we have doubts about whether the request has been made by you, we can ask you for your proof of identity. If you think that we do not handle your data properly, you have the option of submitting a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. LawyerlinQ takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent abuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure, and unauthorized changes.
