We are LawyerlinQ BV, a company under Dutch law, located at Keizersgracht 520-sous, 1017 EK Amsterdam. We are responsible for the processing of personal data as stated in this privacy statement. We strive to collect only the personal data we need for our services. The personal data that we gather is always handled carefully and in accordance with the privacy statement. LawyerlinQ is 'controller' under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG). This statement applies to all services that LawyerlinQ offers.

What does LawyerlinQ do?

LawyerlinQ creates and manages exclusive legal communities for law firms and corporate legal departments, and we offer them on-demand legal resourcing. The goal of our services is to offer our clients the possibility to always quickly locate and engage the right legal professional to provide them with the legal services they need.

Our legal communities are tailor-made and available on the LawyerlinQ platform. They are only accessible to LawyerlinQ clients and the lawyers and attorneys selected to participate in them.

 

When do we process your personal data?

  • When you visit our website

  • When you enter your details into one of our web forms

  • When you are a client or contact person at an organization that is a (prospective) client

  • When you log in to our platform

  • When you are selected to participate in one of our legal communities 

  • When you indicate to us that you want to be eligible to provide services to our clients

  • When you share your resume with us

 

Which personal data do we process?

Below you will find an overview of the personal data that we process if you use our services or if you provide us with this data. We do not collect special or sensitive personal data. 

  • First and last name

  • Address data 

  • Telephone number

  • E-mail address

  • IP-address

  • Curriculum vitae 

  • Availability data to provide services to our customers 

  • Location information

  • Internet browser and device type 

  • Information for the administrative processing of activities 

  • Other data that you actively provide in correspondence and by telephone, for example by creating a profile on our platform 

For what purpose do we process your personal data?

We process personal data pursuant to art. 6 GDPR, for the following purposes:

  • To send you our newsletter or other business related mailings       

  • To be able to call or email you, if necessary to perform our services

  • To inform you about (changes in) our services       

  • To enable you to use our services, or to create an account and access our platform    

  • To comply with our legal obligations   

 

Do we use automated decision-making?
LawyerlinQ does not use automated individual decision-making in matters that can have (significant) consequences for individuals. These are decisions made by automated means, without human involvement (for example without a LawyerlinQ employee making the choice).

 

How long do we keep personal data?

LawyerlinQ will not store your personal data any longer than is necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data was collected. If you take action yourself and inform us of the fact that you no longer appreciate us storing your data, we will delete it.

Data sharing between LawyerlinQ and WeLegal

LawyerlinQ shares your data with its sister company WeLegal B.V., (hereinafter “Welegal”) to enable WeLegal to inform you about her services, to determine wether you may benefit from her services, or to determine wether you are eligible to perform specific projects. WeLegal will process your data in accordance with her own privacy statement. You aknowledge that LawyerlinQ can not be held responsible for any damages caused by the use, or loss of data by WeLegal.

Who do we share your personal data with? 

LawyerlinQ will not sell your personal data to third parties and will only provide it to third parties if this is necessary for the implementation of our agreements with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We have concluded a processor agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. Third parties have their own responsibility to comply with applicable privacy legislation.

 

Suppliers

LawyerlinQ uses supporting (IT) suppliers for hosting, cloud, support and maintenance. If we have to share your data with these suppliers, we will ensure contracts are in place in which security is guaranteed. Below you will find the (IT) suppliers we use, their location, and what services they provide to us:

What rights do you have regarding your personal data?

You have the right to access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectify (Art. 16 GDPR) or to have us erase your personal data (Art. 17 GDPR). You also have the right to withdraw your consent to lawyerlinQ processing your data, or to object to the processing of your personal data by LawyerlinQ (art. 21 GDPR).

You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data or request for cancellation of your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to admin@lawyerlinq.com.

To ensure that the request for access has been made by you, we ask you to send a copy of your ID with the request. Make your passport photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of the passport), passport number and Citizen Service Number (BSN) black in this copy. This is to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible but within four weeks.

How do we protect your personal data?

LawyerlinQ takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorized access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorized modification. We do this by using an SSL certificate and locking all our devices and software. If you feel that your data is not properly secured or there are indications of abuse, please contact admin@lawyerlinQ.com

Cookies

LawyerlinQ uses cookies for analytical and functional reasons, not for marketing purposes. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit our website. The cookies we use are necessary for the technical operation of the website and your ease of use. They ensure that the website works properly and remembers your preferred settings, for example. We can also use cookies to optimize our website. You can opt-out of cookies by setting your internet browser so that it no longer stores cookies. In addition, you can also delete all information previously saved via your browser settings.
